November 5, 2026
On November 1, 2026, the Government of Aruba launched a digital platform for registering short-term rental units. Registration will remain open until January 31, 2027. The platform can be accessed via the following link: Aruba Vacation Rental Registry.
Registration via the digital platform is voluntary, and there is no penalty or automatic closure for those who do not register. However, the Government of Aruba encourages the registration of existing accommodations that were operational before November 1, 2026, as well as accommodations still in preparation for which substantial investments or binding commitments were made before 1 November 2026. A proposal or an idea alone is not sufficient.
Registered properties are eligible for evaluation, which may lead to legalization under the Temporary Non-Enforcement Period (in Dutch: tijdelijk gedoogkader). Properties that are not registered fall outside this evaluation and remain subject to the existing rules and the regular inspection process. Please note that a permit may still be denied, whether or not you register.
